Context

The transport sector represents almost a quarter of Europe's greenhouse gas emissions and is the leading cause of air pollution in cities [Source]. Mapon clients currently use their product to track and reduce fleet fuel consumption.

“To expand our service to support our client sustainability journey, we chose to take the fast lane. Hiring Impact House has helped us save time. Working with someone with experience on the subject, really helped,” adds Mapon Co-CEO Ingus Rūķis.

Challenge

Sustainability can often be an overwhelming and confusing subject to the company founders. After spending several nights googling the answers themselves, Mapon CEOs Ingus and Andris decided it would be more time-efficient to involve someone with experience in sustainability strategy development.

The challenge was to identify the areas of sustainability (and here we were looking at all aspects of ESG - environments, social, and governance) that make business sense and are important to Mapon’s current and future customers. The end goal for the Mapon leadership team was to start a conversation on what their role should be in this “green revolution.”

Solution

Our collaboration framework allowed Impact House to become an extension of the Mapon team. Impact House combined the internal knowledge already compiled in the Mapon team and added market research and sustainability expertise to it.

During the three-month collaboration process, we regularly checked in with the core team members to discuss findings and potential solutions the mobility industry will need in order to transition to a sustainable business model.

Result

The collaboration was wrapped up by a “Sustainability crash course” for the leadership team. In just 2 hours, the whole leadership team received valuable insights from the research on the key changes taking place in their industry and insights on the key challenges their customers. That sparked ideas and discussions on what the business opportunities are and what should be the next steps to tackle them.

Mapon also received an extensive written report on the research and additional resources.

“The most important result from this collaboration for us was to get an up-to-date overview of all the initiatives our clients are already working on,” adds Ingus Rūķis, Co-CEO of Mapon.

Shortly after our collaboration, Ingus Rūķis shared his predictions for the upcoming year in a blog article. It was great to see that the role of sustainability in the future of mobility for them is clear — it's a business opportunity. Or, as Ingus Rūķis says: “For the Mapon team, this is an opportunity to help our clients with ESG reporting and keeping track of their environmental and social goals right now.”

Customer testimonial

“The in-depth research we saw on the presentation exceeded my expectations and encouraged us that we just have to proceed in this direction. Impact House gave us a good crash course on the sustainability topic so that our sales and product teams could have a shared and valid understanding of the topic and where our industry is going. Our goal with the cooperation was to raise awareness for our employees, and Impact House got all the necessary cards on the table to achieve this goal.”
